Ingredients
1 bunch swiss chard1 tbsp olive oil4 cloves garlicRed pepper flakes (to taste)Salt and Pepper (to taste)1 tablespoon lemon juice
Directions
- Wash the chard and trim ends of stems.
- Cut stems out of chard leaves and make two piles; one with stems and one with leaves.
- Rip chard leaves into 2†pieces, cut stems into 1†pieces.
- Peel 4 cloves of garlic and slice thinly.
- Heat olive oil in a medium-sized pan over medium-low heat, add garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook until garlic is lightly brown about 2 minutes.
- Add in chard stems and cook until softened, 4 minutes.
- Add in chard leaves and lemon juice. Cook about 1 minute until leaves are wilted.
- Enjoy as a side dish with chicken, steak, beef, eggs, or any other protein!
